Description Xanax 0.5 mg(029 orange pill) belongs to the class of Benzodiazepines that is primarily used for the purpose of treating generalized anxiety disorder( in adults) and panic disorders. It can be used to treat panic disorders including the ones with or without Agoraphobia (in adults). The active ingredient of Xanax 0.5 is Alprazolam which belongs to the class of central nervous system-active compounds. Whereas the inactive ingredients include: Cellulose Docusate Sodium Lactose Silicon Dioxide Corn Starch Magnesium Stearate Sodium Benzoate Dosage of Xanax 0.5: Dosage anxiety disorder: 0.5 mg is generally the starting dose for otherwise healthy adults with generalized anxiety disorder. It is the oral dose recommended thrice a day which can be increased after the intervals of 3-4 days. Do not increase the dose without the consultancy of your doctor. The dose needs to be increased only by the doctors after examining the bodyâs initial reaction to Xanax . The overall maximum dose should not exceed Xanax 4 mg. For Panic Disorders: The starting dose for panic disorder in adults is 0.5 mg Xanax. It is prescribed to take the medicine thrice a day and then gradually inverse the dose after 4 days. However, the maximum dose for 90% percent is Xanax 1 mg .
